This is near where I grew up. The white square was roughly over a no man's land called,"Tate's Hell". About 20 miles to the NE is the National High Magnetic Lab. REPLY TO ABOVE EMAIL: Thanks, You know I downloaded the GOES IR weather loop for this time period, but by the time I got to it these key frame-files had been removed by UNISYS. At the time I was puzzled by the data gap, in fact smelled a rat, and really glad that someone was head's up to find the frames. I have the loop on my hard drive. I made this screen capture from my animation analysis program showing the missing data. I'm posting this as additional corroboration that indeed something strange might have happened.--Kent
