Doug answers: No, but there is evidence, however intangible, nebulous and ephemeral, that something much more dangerous is headed this way--and much earlier than 30 years from now. I'm referring to Sitchin's "12th Planet", named Niburu or Marduk. Supposedly, this self-illuminating, inhabited monster, some 4 to 6 times the size of the Earth, and trailing a dozen or so moons, fills the role of the errant planet from this solar system. Sitchin's predictions, based upon his translation of several Sumerian clay tablets, foretell the return of this wandering planet once every 3500 years or so. Its last pass through this solar system occasioned the Great Flood of the Bible, the one for which Noah was warned and instructed on how to build the Ark. That was approximately some 1500 years before the beginning of the Christian era. Adding that 1500 to the 2000 years we have already accounted for brings us up to 3500 years. Sitchin's predictions, as well as those of the ZetaTalk site, indicate that the "12th Planet" is due to return to our solar system sometime during May of 2003. That is just a few months more than 5 years from now. Briefly, Niburu is approaching from the area of Orion; its exact coordinates are Right Ascension: 6h 17' 31" Declination: 15d 14' 22" N which places it at the extreme end of Orion's up-stretched left arm (from our point of view). Orion is now high in the southern sky for all areas in the U.S that are dark at this hour (8:30 p.m. EST). Niburu will enter this solar system, so we are told, at a 38-degree angle to the ecliptic and pass between us and the sun. Its entry and passage around the sun will take about 6 months--3 months in and 3 months back out. At its point of closest approach to the Earth (May, 2003), the Earth's daily rotation will slow and stop dead for several hours if not several days. The U.S. will be subject to what is called the Long Dawn. That means that the sun will remain just below the eastern horizon and not rise as usual because of the stopped planetary rotation. Most of the Atlantic as well as Europe will experience high noon for an extended period of time, while Asia and the Subcontinent will participate in the Long Sunset. The Pacific, on the other hand, will be in the throes of night for the duration of this event. As Niburu moves away from us, the Earth will once again regain its planetary rotation, due to the spinning molten core of the planet. But the immense gravitational attraction that Niburu possesses will do great damage to our planet, Sitchin says. The famous Pole Shift we have been hearing about will occur at this time. The new North Pole will be situated off the eastern bulge of Brazil while the new South Pole will be located east of India. The continental configurations of the planet will undergo dramatic realignment. Surface winds exceeding 1700 miles an hour will decimate the planetary surface of most structures. Tidal waves as high as 700 feet will sweep for hundreds of miles inland from all major ocean basins. We may also experience mountain-building activity across a vast spectrum of the Earth's surface. Civilization as we know it will cease to exist. Sitchin estimates that the death toll could reach well into the hundreds of millions, while governmental functions and community living will become the flotsam and jetsam of history. While many believe that alien intervention most certainly will be needed, the Greys have been mum regarding the extent of their participation. As for the 150 or so other alien races which are currently in this solar system, little if anything has been learned about how much they will be able or willing to assist in the aftermath of world-wide devastation. This has led some to speculate that the abduction scenarios we so often experience and hear about as nothing more than a precaution for extracting and preserving our genetic material against total depletion of the human gene pool, should such a cataclysmic event come to pass. If this sounds as far-fetched to you as it does to me, good. I certainly hope there is nothing to this. But it has been the topic of conversation on many web sites. Neither the NASA nor the Hubble sites have seen fit to respond to my inquiry regarding this dire prediction. Surely, if the Hubble Space Telescope were turned to those coordinates, we would be able to see by now whether anything were coming towards us. If anyone knows how to get recent photos from the HST based on those coordinates, I certainly would like to see them. This is a thumbnail sketch of the material surrounding the Pole Shift phenomenon we have been hearing about. To say that is it frightening is a gross understatement. It scares the h--- out me! Let's hear what the list thinks about this, OK? More than anything else, I'm looking for reassurance that Sitchin is all wet up to his chin in this one! Warm Wishes! Doug
