UPDATE: Hubble Zooms In on Heart of Mystery Comet Animation Astronomers used Hubble's powerful resolution to study Comet Holmes' core for clues about how the comet brightened. The orbiting observatory's Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) monitored the comet for several days, snapping images on Oct. 29, Oct. 31, and Nov. 4. Hubble's crisp "eye" can see objects as small as 33 miles (54 kilometers) across, providing the sharpest view yet of the source of the spectacular brightening. Now, check out the link at the bottom of page 18, an animation of E8 rotation. You may have to copy the link into your Quicktime player, as every time I tried to run it in FireFox, it crashed. Now, if you have some 3-d glasses around try playing the Rotation Movie while wearing those. This is really great stuff. And all in 31 pages. Amazing.

Pull up the big one to really see the 'waves' coming off of it.
