There were 773 earthquakes recorded, give or take, between October 11, 2002 and November 6th, when it became very obvious looking at the front page of http://neic.usgs.gov  , that the maps were no longer telling the real story. Attached is the excel file that I developed, to get these summary figures, which of course are very incompletely, merely indicative.

What becomes clear is that eleven areas are being constantly HAMMERED. Some of them go unnoticed because they are sparsely populated. I believe that is specious, because the mechanics of planetary tectonic movements, shifts and collapsing vents is a "whole planet" occurrence, not just something that is "inconvenient" to human habitation.

From this listing you can see the following areas have been in trouble during this period of time---
Alaska, California, Chile, Fiji, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Japan/Kulil Islands, New Zealand/North Island, Peru, Spain and Taiwan--all areas bounded by water.

What is breaking? Rock that loses it's support underneath, for example, when the oil that was under it supporting it, is removed, it aggregates and begins acting like a liquid. This is why Alaska and Indonesia are in trouble, due to removing the underlying oil deposits that kept their surface rock in place. Now, the shale is breaking up and beginning to rotate in a vortex, as if going down a drain. This is happening naturally in Fiji due to volcanic action; it is ordinarily a slow process. Drilling for oil and removing the oil out of the substrata of rock, speeds up the aggregation and movement of surface rock.

Volcanos create vents due to heat. Rocks fall into the vents and return to the core. When enough supporting rocks have been thus swallowed up, the surface gives way.

A few months ago, we were having five or six quakes a day. We're NOW up into the TWENTIES per day. Alaska has had a thousand quakes in the last week. I fear, it's going to get much worse before it gets better. And, of course, the USCoverment is absolutely ignoring the whole matter. I wouldn't be surprised if they were laying USGS people OFF, or punishing them for doing their work, if they did any work.

It's not a very comforting picture. But the real mystery to me is what has happened to Pakistan's quakes this last weekend. Come to think of it, I never saw a single record for that series of two hard shocks, a 7.5 and 6.7 plus 50 aftershocks. It was on CNN News, but USGS doesn't apparently keep track of Pakistan quakes, I guess.  I don't know how they could NOT HAVE a single entry for Pakistan.
