Kent - check out the shadow planet at about 8 o'clock - looks like a dark Saturn, doesn't it? It's just above the arm to the disk...even has a ring around it's middle like Saturn! It looks big to me |

I have been tracking this shadow for months now. It was originally located at the sun's 5:30 o'clock position and came into existence when Mercury transited the area. After about three weeks it moved from 5:30 to the now 8 o'clock position and has been there for about a month (maybe three weeks).
It appears that it is an artifact of Mercury's transition through the area that may have "burned in" in the ccd imagers. It never moves and never changes shape. Occasionally stars can be seen in front of it. I suspect that the imagers still function but are reduced. Remember most C3 images at 19.3 second time exposures.
The move from 5:30 to 8 o'clock position may have been to a rotation of the SOHO spacecraft.

Yesterday afternoon, Saturday, February 12th, just a little before sunset, I looked out of my kitchen window and I saw a strange site. I thought at first that it was a distortion caused by the glass in the window but it wasn't. I went outside and saw the same thing. There was a solar magnetic storm, obviously, occurring on the sun. Below is an animated graphic that is similar to what I saw.

I've found something rather strange on a image called ab108405. Can't remember where I've got it from but it's from NASAs archives anyway. I've saw something that looks like a fortress. It looks like it is situated on the top of a hill.It has to many straight lines to be natural, thats what I think anyway. You should have no problem finding what I call the fortress in the pic.
