Kent:
I was intrigued by the notation about Sedona Arizona, since it is a resort area, but also boarders one of the largest areas of federal land in the U.S. Sedona is located near Secret Mountain, a name I always found amusing.

I decided to see what I could see on the Terraserver of the area. I have just begun to scratch the surface since there are many square miles to cover, but I found the attached images "interesting".

Image "Boynton" is a clean USGS satellite shot of the area Northwest of Boynton Canyon.  Image "Boynton2" is my marked up version of the same shot. I know they will lose some quality in sending them to you via e-mail. The outlined areas in "Boynton2" are areas that my imaging software indicates have been digitally altered. That is the pixilation patterns and colors are off to some degree from the surrounding areas. It appears that an effort has been made to sanitize these images before they were added to the USGS database for public consumption.

The three outline areas have been digitally overlaid over the original image.

There are other items to look for that the casual viewer would not think twice about, but that someone looking for an installation, might notice.

1. A very wide road cut into the area from Dyes Creek area. This is three times the diameter of the "Jeep Trails". This could indicate a pathway for heavy machinery.

2. Fan like and semi circular tracks off of main track. This could indicate vehicles working "around" something or an area. Usually found at construction sites as vehicles need to work around the area.

3. Odd looking shape.

Good Hunting
