Subj: The Halifax Meteor Date: 10/29/99 2:04:45 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: Chosen72 To: BARDSQUILL Hi Kent, regarding that meteor in Halifax, here's an email I just recently put out to my mailing list. It has some updated info on the meteor that I thought you might want to see as well as some Leonid-related info. Christopher Subj: "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth..." (Rev 6:13) Date: 10/29/99 "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind." (Revelation 6:13) Dear Friends in Christ, The above verse from John's Book of Revelation could *possibly* be found as a warning sign in a celestial event which occurred on November 17, 1998 and will occur again this November - the Leonid Meteor Storm. Note that in the Revelation verse, the "fig tree" cast off her figs in an untimely manner. The following news snip is from today's The Independent - London: Science: Stars and Planets: November Publication Date: Oct. 29, 1999 LAST YEAR we predicted that we were due to experience the greatest celestial display of pyrotechnics for a generation. But instead of it occurring on the morning of the 18 November, as we said, the brilliant meteors lit up the sky the previous day. So why did we - and the world's leading meteor astronomers - get it so wrong? ... Astronomers have realised that last year's display didn't simply come early. There were two outbursts: the predicted shower did happen on the morning of 18 November, but it was a feeble drizzle. The outburst the previous morning came from an *unsuspected stream of debris, off the main track of the comet's orbit*. [End of Snip] So, the meteor storm came in an "untimely" manner. And this year, could the "fig tree" be casting its figs in an even more "untimely" and attention-grabbing way... Headline: Maritime residents report streaking fireball From: CP Wire Publication Date: Oct. 28, 1999 Source: Winnipeg Free Press HALIFAX -- Police and emergency lines throughout the Maritimes were flooded with calls late Tuesday after a large fireball streaked across the night sky. There were reports of possible impacts in northern New Brunswick, near the Quebec border, and on Nova Scotia's eastern shore. From today's Toronto Sun... FIREBALL WAS A METEORITE LIT UP EASTERN SKY Date: Oct. 29, 1999 Source: The Toronto Sun David Turner didn't need a telescope Wednesday night to watch a spectacular fireball that flashed through the sky over his suburban home. "My bathroom lit up," the astronomy professor at St. Mary's University said yesterday. "The glow came right through the curtains. "I saw a flash that lasted maybe a couple of seconds." Turner said it was the first time he heard sound from what was believed to be a meteorite that streaked through the Maritimes at about 9:30 p.m. AT. The fireball sparked a deluge of calls to 911 operators and RCMP detachments throughout the Maritimes and parts of Quebec. "At one point we received 30 calls in five minutes," said 911 director Mike Myette. Military spokesman Lt.-Cmdr. Glen Chamberlain said reports of the fireball came in from the Gaspe peninsula, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. Turner believes a meteorite traveling 30 km/second passed over western Nova Scotia and may have hit land between Halifax and Pictou, N.S., or the ocean. [End of Snips item] The Revelation verse again: "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind." (Revelation 6:13) As many of you know, we have entered a period of the Sun's activity known as "Solar Maximum." In fact, on my web site at "Celestial Signs" ( http://hometown.aol.com/Chosen72/stars.html ) you will find a Sept. 2, 1999 email titled "Prepare for the solar maximum" which will show how Solar Max's winds, flares and proton waves correlate very closely (in fact, I think almost exactly) to verses from Book Four of the Prophet Esdras (aka Ezra) which describe our Lord's glorious return. The Revelation verse could be describing a comet which passes through our solar system on a regular basis (a timely manner) but is itself tossed off its normal path in our direction but which we experience first as debris (shooting stars) thrown at us in an "untimely" manner - all because of a strong "wind." This "strong wind" is most likely a reference to a strong solar wind or coronal mass ejection (which, as I've stated, is happening with greater frequency and intensity now that we are in the Solar Max period). Leonid display may be stormy Meteor shower to peak Nov. 17 Publication Date: Oct. 28, 1999 Source: Bangor Daily News Bangor, ME In 1998, Mark Littmann wrote a book titled "The Heavens on Fire" about the great Leonid shower of 1833 when an estimated 72,000 meteors an hour lit up the skies. The Leonids peak every 33 years which indicates 1999 might be a good year since 1966 was the last year that could be classified as a storm. *The Leonids will radiate out of the sickle of Leo the Lion, as swift, bright meteors that often leave persistent trails*. [End of News Snip] Consider these verses from the Fourth Book of Esdras (Ezra, circa 458BC), Chapter 11, where Ezra shares a dream vision he had regarding the last days: Then I heard a voice saying to me, "Look before you and consider what you see." And I looked, and behold, a creature like a *lion* was aroused out of the forest, roaring; and I heard how he uttered a man's voice to the *eagle*, and spoke, saying, "Listen and I will speak to you. The Most High says to you, 'Are you not the one that remains of the four beasts which I had made to reign in my world, so that the end of my times might come through them?...And so your insolence has come up before the Most High, and your pride to the Mighty One. And the Most High has looked upon his times, and behold, they are ended, and his ages are completed! Therefore you will surely disappear, you eagle, and your terrifying wings, and your malicious heads, and your most evil talons, and your whole worthless body, so that the whole earth, freed from your violence, may be refreshed and relieved, and may hope for the judgment and mercy of him who made it." Then continuing in Chapter 12, verse 11, God gives Ezra the interpretation of the "eagle".... "The eagle which you saw coming up from the sea is the fourth kingdom which appeared in a vision to your brother Daniel. but it was not explained to him as I now explain or have explained it to you. Behold, the days are coming when a kingdom shall arise on earth, and it shall be more terrifying than all the kingdoms that have been before it." And in verse 31, He explains the *lion*... "And as for the lion who you saw rousing up out of the forest and roaring and speaking to the eagle and reproving him for his unrighteousness, and as for all his words that you have heard, this is the Messiah whom the Most High has kept until the end of days, who will arise from the posterity of David, and will come and speak to them; he will denounce them for their wickedness, and will cast up before them their contemptuous dealings. For first he will set them living before his judgment seat and when he has reproved them, then he will destroy them. But he will deliver in mercy the remnant of my people, those who have been saved throughout my borders, and he will make them joyful until the end comes, the day of judgment, of which I spoke to you at the beginning. This is the dream that you saw, and this is its interpretation." (For the complete verses from Esdras, please visit http://wesley.nnc.edu/noncanon/ot/apcryph/2esdr.htm ) So, dear friends, November 1999 could be a very *interesting* month if the Tempel-Tuttle Comet (or another still unforseen comet) is the "fig tree" which cast off its figs in an "untimely" manner in 1998 and may do so in a more dramatic way in 1999 due to the increased solar storm activity. In any case, your prayers and repentance are always important. We all have sin, and we all can be forgiven by God if we turn to His mercy in a meaningful way and accept His forgiveness in faith. Heaven will be filled with earnestly *repentant sinners* while Hell will be filled with the prideful, unrepentant sinners. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8) Thank you, dear friends in Christ, for your prayers. May the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
